My newest obsession is making our fireplace mantel pretty. Why? Because the fireplace is literally the first thing you see when you walk into our home, so I want it to look amazing and give off a good feel for our visitors. First impressions, people! So I decided to look up some good mantel decorating ideas. I have some good ideas in mind, but I love looking at other people’s pictures for inspiration or ideas I may never have thought of.
I love the idea of having a mirror resting on the mantel or hanging above it. I also want to incorporate pictures and cool picture frames into ours, like shown below.
If we can’t find a mirror that we like for the mantel, I’d love create my own painting to place on the mantel. I like to use my creative side and make things myself rather than taking the easy way out and just buying a painting. I love that this painting goes with the color scheme of the room. The chair with this painting looks fab!
Pictures, pictures, pictures. I love the thought of having many pictures displayed in our living room. Different sized framed photos look awesome on a mantel.
A mirror mixed with vases and flowers = LOVE. Especially now that it’s spring time, tulips are my flower of choice.
Where to buy goodies to decorate your mantel:
On a budget? Check out Target’s selection of vases, here.
My personal fav from Target is this one:

For less than $20 you’re already adding so much character to your mantel!
Don’t care how much a vase costs? Check out Pottery Barn’s awesome sea glass vases, here. I’m officially obsessed.
Home Goods always has tons of mirrors available, but if you’re looking for something a little funky, check out Pier 1 Imports. I went on their website and found tons of cool mirrors for under $200.
Loving this metal framed one:
