I bought this beautiful clear vase with swirl detailing on it about 3 months ago. It’s literally been sitting empty on our fireplace mantel since then. I decided the other day it’s time to fill the vase. I wanted to buy pretty flowers to put in it, but don’t want to have to buy new flowers every week after the old ones die.
So off to Michael’s craft store we went to get some fake flowers. I’ve always thought fake flowers in homes are kind of tacky, but now that I’ve seen all the fake flowers Michael’s had to offer, I was sold. I LOVE hydrangeas. Like, I get super jealous when other neighbors around us have them growing in their yards but we don’t. It seems like everyone in our neighborhood has them except us. Unfair. Anyways, I wanted white hydrangeas and I found the perfect ones. I also had Charlie help me pick out a really long pair for a floor vase we got that. Of course the flowers are too short for it so I’m not sure if I’ll return or keep them. Ok, enough blabbing, here’s what I did:
Here’s one of the hydrangeas I got…I got 3 total:
Since you obvi don’t need water for artificial flowers I wasn’t sure what to do with the bottom of the vase. Then I realized I had some extra clear water beads I could put in there…
Here’s the vase, pretty cool looking right? Love at first site when I saw it.
And the finished result! I think they look great. They’re one of the first things people see when they walk into our house, so I think the white was a good choice. Don’t worry, I’m going to cut the tags off I just wanted to make sure I liked them first 😉
Have a fab weekend!
First off I wuld like to say excellent blog! I hhad a quick
question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing.
I have had a harrd time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there.
I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first
10 to 15 minutes are wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations oor tips?
Thank you!
