Charlie’s brother works in construction and has gotten his hands on a couple mini wooden pallets for me the past couple summers (last year I made this sea life pallet garden on one). I’ve had this one sitting around for a while trying to figure out what I wanted to do with it…and then it hit me: an American Flag pallet for the 4th of July! Perfect! It took me an hour altogether and I spent $10 on exterior paint (you can actually get it cheaper with sample paint sizes at Home Depot, but I got my paint at Michael’s). Here’s the pallet before (I added blue painters tape to tape of where the blue part of the flag would be)…
This is the paint I used…
And here it is all painted before the stars were added. I roughed up the paint a little with sand paper to give it a more rustic look which you can see closer up in the photo after this one…
I used my Cricut with Oracal 651 white vinyl to cut and put the stars on. If you don’t have a Cricut, I would just paint them on. You can see the spots I roughed up with sand paper better here too…
And that’s all there is to it! In one hour you can have something like this to display in July! Your neighbors will be asking where you bought it and be wowed when you say you made it!

How big are the stars?
They’re about 2″ 🙂
Thank you so Much! ?
Of course! Hope you try it out! – Rissa
Love this. Did you take the boards off of one side? I have a pallet I want to do this to and it has boards on both sides.
I loved this so much I made two and they came out great!
