Ever since it started getting cold out, when we walk into the laundry room there is a noticeable draft coming from somewhere by the windows. Charlie’s dad caulked underneath the windows, where there was literally a crack where you could see outside! So we moved on thinking this was the fix for it. Whelp, we were wrong, the draft was STILL there and still extremely noticeable…so Charlie is determined to fix it! He’s becoming quite the handy man 🙂 So what he started to do was remove the shelf from the wall, by the way the disgusting-ness (yep, made that up) behind the shelf was on another level. Charlie vacuumed it all up and did some scrubbing, then moved on to spackling the wall where there seemed to be some cracks. We went over to Lowe’s and bought some insulation foil and foil tape to keep it in place.
Here’s a picture after the spackling was done and some of the insulation was put in place:
Here’s the shelf removed from the wall, with a view of the insulation and spackling work:
We’ll let you know how it works. Charlie is definitely determined to fix this problem on his own 🙂 I think this should do the trick!
