Valentine’s Day Wreath (With felt flowers!)

Guys, this is my third Valentine’s Day project post in one week. My third and final VDay project, I promise! I just had so much fun with these, I can’t help but share! I hope you enjoy this wreath DIY. It was my first time trying out felt flowers and they are so. cute.

I loved how this turned out, and I hope you do too!

Valentine's Day Wreath with Felt Flowers and a Banner

First thing I started out doing was the banner. I tied a piece of twine to each side of my grapevine wreath, and then made a template for the banner’s triangle shape. I made the triangles about 2.5″ wide, and 3″ tall.Valentine's Day Wreath with Felt Flowers and a Banner

I cut out each shape using some felt I picked up at Michael’s. I bought red and gray for the banner to alternate colors.Valentine's Day Wreath with Felt Flowers and a Banner

I then used my Cricut to cut out the letters to spell out LOVE on the wreath. I wanted to try something new and used Heat Transfer Vinyl to iron the letters onto the felt. It worked great! If you don’t have a Cricut, I was originally just going to use card stock for the banner and then put stickers onto it to spell out LOVE. It would look just as good.Valentine's Day Wreath with Felt Flowers and a Banner

This next part was so fun for me! I put on This Is Us to catch up on a couple weeks that I missed, and got to cutting out my  flowers using felt! I got red, white, gray and light pink felt for the flowers. I thought the easiest way to explain how I made my flowers was to just create a step by step photo guide. I hope this is helpful for those of you who have never created felt flowers before. I promise it’s so easy! I had never made one before, and once I started I was hooked. I didn’t make a certain number of flowers, I kind of just kept going until I thought it was enough to cover a section of the wreath. I ended up making about 18 flowers.

After I made my flowers I hot glued them all onto the wreath…Valentine's Day Wreath with Felt Flowers and a Banner Valentine's Day Wreath with Felt Flowers and a Banner

I also hot glued my banner onto the twine…

I added on a simple burlap bow using this adorable red chevron burlap ribbon you can find here. Valentine's Day Wreath with Felt Flowers and a Banner

And that’s all there is to it! I split it up between a Saturday night and Sunday night (because the flowers are a bit time consuming). I love the final product though and can’t wait to use it for years to come at Valentine’s time!
