Happy Tuesday! I’m back with another wreath DIY for you guys! This one is Thanksgiving themed with pops of bright Fall colors I think you’ll love. I ended up spending just about $10 on this wreath, possibly a dollar or two more, but if you have some of these items you’ll be saving a couple bucks!
Here’s what I started out with…I actually got this on clearance at Michael’s for $1.75 because as you can see it broke on one part. It still worked out perfectly when wrapped with the ribbon. These are typically about $5-$6, and with a coupon you can get it half off.
This is the ribbon and leaves I used, all from Michael’s. The leaves are actually pretty thick and have gold glitter on them to match the ribbon. The leaves were 50% off, as was the ribbon.
So to start off, I wrapped the ribbon around the wreath. I hot glued it every few inches to make sure it stayed in place.
I then hot glued the leaves onto the ribbon.
I’ve had this wooden frame from Michael’s for a while now, and I thought it would be perfect to use in the center of the wreath. This frame is $1 at Michael’s (normal price too!)…
I painted it a bright red to match the leaves (orange, gold or green would also look so cute)…I drilled a hole through the bottom as you can see, so that I can put twine through to keep the frame in place on the wreath. I ended up drilling a hole on the opposite side as well…
And then I used my Cricut to cut out “Happy Thanksgiving” and the “J” “Est. 2009″…Normal letter and number stickers would work perfectly too if you don’t have a cutting machine. Although Cricut has really stepped up my craft game…I cannot recommend it enough! I used a piece of kraft paper I had and cut it to size for the frame, and put the “J” on to have something cute in there! A turkey sticker would also be adorable!
I attached some twine I had (any twine or string will work) around the sides to keep the frame in place. It still seemed a little wobbly to me, so I hot glued the bottom corners of the frame to the wreath to make it a bit more sturdy.
And that’s all there is to it! This wreath altogether only took me about 1 hour to make. If you host Thanksgiving your guests will be LOVING this and asking you to make them one!
