I went to Michael’s craft store a couple weeks ago in search of fake flowers and acrylic paint, and of course found other goodies I didn’t need…like this baby:
These wall vinyls are usually around $20-$30 and I walk right past them, because let’s be real, I’m never spending $30 on something to stick on my wall….but some of them were ON SALE. These are never on sale! $10! Woo! Now that I think about it though, who decides these wall vinyls, or wall tattoos as I like to call them, are $20-$30? I think I should be paid $30 to hang the damn thing on my wall because it took for-fricken-ever to do it. Seriously an hour and I’m sure I looked really hot bouncing around my bed trying to hang it.
But anyway, I picked out one for our bedroom that says “LOVE” in big letters, then “a simple smile, a tender touch” underneath…I know, I know – the quote is ridiculous but I thought it would look cute above our bed. I’m sure I’ll only like this wall vinyl for a few months until I become bored and need to find something awesome to hang above the bed. But look how lonely that wall space is:
Even if I didn’t end up liking it, I’d only be out $10 so I thought it was worth a shot. Here it is after I positioned it on the wall…I used painters tape to place it and a leveler for the wall to make it straight. Also realized at this time how much time this was actually taking me to do…not 15 minutes like I originally planned.
Finished result. I likey! Although in this picture it looks small..it’s not that small. It works for now 🙂
Overall what I think of the wall vinyl: 3/5 stars.
Oh and if anyone is wondering why we have 2 different colored wood furniture in our room – I’m still working on staining our bedroom suite so we have an extra dresser in our room for now. Sanding and staining furniture is much more time consuming than I ever thought. UGH.
Happy hump day!
