2012 was a crazy and fun year for us, and we hope to make 2013 our best year yet! Now that the house hunting is over and we’re finally getting settled, we want to work hard on our businesses and on the house. It has officially been 2013 for one week, I know I know, we’re late – but we still want to share some of our resolutions and wishes for the new year with everyone 🙂
Make the home comfy, clean and organized
We want to make sure that by the end of 2013, the house is fully clean and painted! We got lucky with this house – it really doesn’t need that much work, it needs some, but not a ton. Just the basics – cleaning, painting, renovating some rooms (like Rissa’s office – took a lot longer than planned!) We hope to continue with a good pace and get the house exactly how we want it 🙂 We love to stay organized, so we hope to have everything in set places that are easily accessible, not scattered throughout different rooms. Can’t wait to go out and find organizing bins and maybe even a new label maker!
Work Hard
2013 will be an amazing year for us. If we stay optimistic and stay on the right path, we know great things will come. Great things and accomplishments don’t happen without hard work. We plan to work our hardest this year to build our businesses and continue to do what we love – design! It feels great to stay busy, but it also is easy to get distracted, so there will be less of that distraction nonsense this year. Determination and hard work will get us far.
Keep a Sense of Humor
Trying to keep up with work and taking care of a new house can be stressful. We need to remember that life is short and we should always try to make the best of every situation. When you’re stressed out, laughing and smiling can really change your mood around quick. One of my favorite things about Charlie is that he makes me laugh every single day. He knows how to get me out of a bad mood. In 2013 we will keep our senses of humor and make each other laugh even on the worst of days.
Stay Grateful
We are grateful for every single thing in our lives. Our families, friends, each other, every accomplishment we’ve made and just every day in general. When you think things are bad, it could always be worse. Remember everything good that you have in your life! Having gratitude can really change your life around. In 2013 we will stay grateful for everything we have in our lives.
Happy New Year! We hope this year is amazing for everyone!
