So when we got the house our first reaction was most likely pure excitement and over the moon happy. But then it hits you – omg what are we going to put in every single room?! Well, when you have a house with a ton of space and only 2 people in it, I guess it doesn’t really matter if every room is filled right away. We need to focus on the necessities before worrying about the fluff and pretty decorations. So of course we hit up our favorite spot – Home Goods, and got a couple things for the living room. These actually may not seem like necessities, but when you have absolutely nothing in your house so far, I think anything could turn into a necessity 🙂
Here’s a ladder that’s actually a shelf. Pretty cool, huh? Charlie picked this out, a pretty good find I think! It’s cute things like this that make people ask, “OMG where did you get that?”
This one is made of metal and looks way better in person, for some reason my camera wont capture the awesomeness of it. It could be an end table or little coffee table – we’ll let you know what we decide. And yes – it was on CLEARANCE. One of our favorite words 🙂
Charlie is an awesome bargain shopper, I’ve definitely picked up a few tips from him. We like to search sales for awesome deals, especially on items that may have a little mark or something wrong that can easily be fixed. For example, the ladder shelf above that we found at Home Goods had a little scratch on the top of it. Big deal? No. Discount? Yes! We complained to the manager about the scratch and got a percentage knocked off the normal price, plus she took out her furniture marker and colored it in for us. You would never notice it unless it was pointed out.
