It’s finally happening! We started renovating our downstairs half bathroom. This is my least favorite bathroom in the entire house, it’s so outdated and just plain ugly. I try to never use it, but not anymore!
Let’s take a look at what we pretty much started with…no words. Well, I have a few but I’ll keep them to myself 😉 ….That blue floral wallpaper though. You guessed it, it absolutely was the first thing taken out of the bathroom when we first moved in.
Here’s the vanity as it was being taken apart. That pink space on the wall is where the huge mirror was. And yes, blue sink. That is all.
And the vanity is gone! Blue floor. Yep.
Adios toilet! You’ve been upgraded.
New sink! Never thought I’d be so excited to buy a sink. It’s not actually in there yet, just making sure it looked ok before we moved on lol.
The walls are all primed and ready for paint! And speaking of, we went to Lowe’s the other night and picked out the color! We decided on Valspar’s Magic Spell. Just wait until you see, I’m in love. It’s a greige color – we wanted something neutral to do with our nautical accessories for the room.
So that’s where we stand. Everything torn apart but I’m sooo excited to basically have everything bought and ready to be installed. But of course it wouldn’t be a complete renovation without some complications. Tiny ones, but we realized our floor is not completey leveled so we have to deal with that. We also realized the sconce we bought wont work because the current one that is in there can only be turned on with a switch on the side of it, there’s no light switch. But Charlie and I literally just ran to Home Depot and got a new one WITH a switch! So exciting. Especially since we don’t have to deal with re-wiring and all that nonsense.
Can’t wait to share the finished result! Ahhh so excited!
Stay tuned (hopefully next week) to see the bathroom reveal! Total half bath reno for under $500! And by total we mean EVERYTHING in this bathroom will be re-done.
