I don’t know about all of you, but I love to have baskets around the house for different purposes. Magazines, blankets, display a frame (like shown below), etc… It’s just a cuter more appealing way of putting crap somewhere in my opinion. So once in a while I like to do a little basket makeover. For this makeover I was inspired by another basket I saw that was white with twine wrapped around the handles. I immediately thought it would be super easy to make myself.
If you want to see how I easily made this basket keep on reading…
Here’s what we started out with. Not bad, just a little plain for my taste.
And after two coats of Valspar spray paint in white…
I let the basket dry for a day or two, and then got some twine at Michael’s to use for the handles.
To get this done nice and tight, I first do a little hot glue underneath the lowest part of the handle you can start wrapping at. I then, every few inches, add a little more hot glue underneath the handle and keep wrapping. It will look similar to this…
And once you’re done wrapping the twine and it’s dried, you’re all set to display your “new” basket! We currently have ours in the living room with our password printable in it for guests! I’ll probably add a couple magazines or books too.
So in all, the basket was free (pretty sure it was given to use when we moved into our home by Charlie’s mom), the spray paint was $4, and the twine was $2. That’s $6 for a brand new, farmhouse vibes basket! Who doesn’t love a good looking farmhouse basket?!
