I made this awesome little sign a few weeks ago and I can’t wait to hang it somewhere in our home for the holidays. I love how it turned out and hope you do as well! If you get to the bottom of this post, I also have a free PNG file for you to upload to Cricut if you want to create a similar sign of your own.
It started off with this sign from ACMoore – it’s about 18″x7″, and I’m sure other craft stores have similar ones too you could use instead…
I used two coats of my favorite stain (a 2 in one stain and poly to save you some time!)…
I let it dry for a little over 24 hours after staining…
And I created my design using vinyl…for this I used Oracal 651 in white. I created this decal, and have a printable of the same design in my Etsy shop that you can purchase and print if you don’t have a Cricut! You can also totally paint words onto your stained wood if you don’t have a Cricut. I have a recent project showing how easily you can paint words onto stained wood.
And slowly I applied it to my wooden sign…I used transfer tape and easily got it on there since it’s a flat surface.
And there you have it! Seriously super easy, and something to hang for years to come during the holidays. Definitely looks like something you purchased from a store and you can proudly tell your guests you made it yourself when they ask 🙂
