I am so excited to share one of my latest DIY projects with you all! I have this adorable, mid sized pallet from last year that originally started out bare. I knew I wanted to do something cool with it, so last Summer I decided to turn it into a pallet garden. It was super simple and affordable, and here is the post if you’d like to see how I did it. The white pallet was put away for the Winter, and Charlie pulled it out of the garage for me in the Spring. It definitely wasn’t a pure white anymore, it had some dirt and such on it, which could have come clean and been re-painted, but I just felt that it needed a change this year. I am sea horse obsessed, so I decided I wanted to do an underwater scene! I got out my exterior sample sized paints from Home Depot – these are about 8oz. of paint that you can get there for a couple dollars a piece, and have tinted any shade you’d like. I made painted my pallet one whole weekend (probably took me about 12-16 hours) and I LOVE the result. When you walk by our house, you can definitely see it and I think it goes so well with our blue siding on the house.
Here is what the original pallet looked like with my pots attached to it…
But that was a little too plain for me, so I decided to paint it white using this Rustoleum paint…
And this is what it looks like now! Huge makeover, and totally what I had envisioned. I kept two of the pots on there for some basil and oregano I planted. I didn’t want to take up too much space and block off a lot of the painting.
So what do you all think?! Do you have a pallet that you’ve made over? I’d love to see!
Like this project and want to save it? Awesome! Use this photo below to pin it for later…
