So…remember earlier in the month when I showed you progress photos of our “second living room”? Whelp, now I’m trying to finish that room off and do something really unique with the lighting fixture. I love being able to complete things myself, so I thought it would be awesome if I could create my own lighting fixture for this room.
This is what we started off with…this fixture came with the house:
Now, I’m not saying it’s terrible. It could be worse. BUT…I’m not liking the yellow and definitely not liking how it creates diamond shapes onto the walls. I feel like this would look good on someone’s front porch or something.
Right now we literally have a black chain hanging down from the old fixture with a light bulb attached. Classy, I know. But who cares when you’re whole house is going through a makeover? Lol.
So, I did some research on DIY lighting fixtures and here’s what I found…please let me know your favorites 🙂
The photos explain how this one works…I like it! Very creative and inexpensive:
These are SO COOL. I couldn’t find the original source to explain how these were created, but they look amaze:
Using sheets of thin brass:
Using a black lacquered pencil holder:
Painting a lamp shade! Love it:
So now that I’ve shown you some of the best DIY lighting fixture ideas I found, which one do you like the best and think I should try out?
Let me know if you have any other great ideas! I love getting inspiration and ideas from readers!
