I have a lot of old frames that I haven’t used in a long time, and in the new house I want to do framed pictures up the staircases. The only thing is, I want all these frames to be black with black and white photos in them. So I decided to be creative and paint the frames black. It’s too cold outside to spray paint, and I really wanted to try something new today, so why not try a thin layer of black acrylic paint? It actually turned out pretty good, and the paint only takes about 15 minutes to dry. This project is also a big money saver in the long run – just paint all your frames any color you’d like and you wont be buying as many frames in the future! Also, I grabbed 2 pictures from our cruise off my desk and put them in here, so these will not be the ones I use in the new house 🙂
All you need is:
- Black spray paint or acrylic paint
- Old frames
- Sponge brush to apply paint (or regular paint brush, but I notice sponges don’t leave marks as much as paint brushes do when the paint is dry)
