I’ve been looking for a cute picture to have in our living room and haven’t found anything I really love. So, I decided to DIY!
I got some Martha Stewart acrylic paints (usually I would definitely use oil paints, but they take forever to dry and I usually end up staining something, so I played it safe with acrylics). The lighter blue I used is called Summer Haze and the darker blue is called Blue Calico. I love these paints, I need every color!
I then painted the whole canvas with the lighter blue, and lightly drew my quote onto the canvas. If you’re nervous about hand drawing a quote, here’s a tip: go to any font website, pick a font you love, and type out the quote using that font. Then, while looking at your screen or printed typed out quote, draw it onto the canvas (Sorry for the horrible image quality below, it was dark outside and my office lighting sucked).
Next, start filling in the letters with the darker paint (I did about 2 coats of paint for each word):
And here’s the final look! I kept it simple doing only the quote, but I think next time it would be fun to add in some flowers or a unique design in the corners.
