We just got back from a nice relaxing vacation – an 11 day cruise to the Caribbean! Words cannot explain how much fun it was and how beautiful it really is there. We will definitely be planning another cruise in the future! We went on Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas, and our first stop was Labadee, Haiti. It was so amazing there! One of the first things I spotted off the boat (besides the scenery), was a local artist with his brother selling their artwork. It was so colorful and immediately grabbed our attention. They were pretty big, so I told him we would be back before boarding the ship to buy a couple. Well I kept my word and came back, and sadly it didn’t look like he sold any pieces during the day, we we bought 3 🙂 He gave us a deal and we were ecstatic. Seriously, it was such a good feeling to support a local Haitian artist and know we helped him out for the week. We also couldn’t wait to bring the paintings home and find a good spot to hang them! If you ever go on a cruise with Royal Caribbean and go to Labadee, be sure to check out the art there – I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
