About 2 months ago I posted that our half bath reno had begun! Very exciting stuff, especially since the before was actually terrifying. I tried to never go in there. Whelp, I’m even more excited to announce that it is complete! It’s actually been done for about a month, but we finally got it decorated and put together, so we’re ready to post about it! I apologize in advance if the pictures aren’t 100% amazing – we had to put plastic over the window for the reno and it’s still up, so it’s taking some light out of the bathroom. That’s also why there’s some real fancy tape on the window that you’ll see below. We’re starting a new trend. Charlie’s brother Chris did this entire project for us – we really can’t thank him enough for the amazing work he did and I can’t take credit for it, even on here lol. So if you have any specific questions on how anything was done I can easily ask him and get back to you, so don’t hesitate to ask!
Take a look at what we started with:
Now let’s get to the fun stuff! Take a look at the reveal!
We LOVE this toilet. It’s a dual flush toilet with the buttons on top. It uses less water than our last one and it’s super quiet.
I was hesitant about the wainscoting at first since I’ve only ever seen it, never had it done. I honestly thought it was going to add a lot more money on to the project, but it really only added $100 on and I really think it completes the room. It looks amazing in person! The white totally pops.
The flooring is to. die. for. I am obsessed and Charlie’s brother made it look so easy to install. I’m sure if I had done it, it would have taken a week lol. We found it at Lowe’s and it was highly recommended by one of the workers. It’s water proof, and he even told us a place he installed it was flooded and the floor was perfectly fine after it. That pretty much sold me. It’s a vinyl floating floor, which means you snap them together. Definitely recommend this!
The sconce. Ohhh the sconce. Never thought we would have problems with a sconce, but I bought one to replace the old one with months ago at Lowe’s. Totally forgetting that our current sconce could only be turned on with a switch on the actual sconce, not a light switch. The new sconce I bought did not have a switch, and it turns out they’re kind of hard to find! We didn’t want to deal with wiring for adding in a light switch to the wall, so I searched online. I found this bad boy at Home Depot for $17! The switch is on the bottom of it and it’s really cute! Score.
My mom has gotten me hooked on Scentsy. She bought me a bride themed scentsy for Christmas and even Charlie loves it, he turns it on almost every day! A Scentsy is awesome because there’s no flame. Inside of it is a light bulb, and you buy the scented wax to place in the little bowl on top. The bulb, when turned on of course, melts the wax and I swear it fills our entire downstairs with the scent. So of course I had to get one for the new bathroom, and what’s better than a seashell one to go with our theme? LOVE.
