I’m sure all of you have seen some sort of cool chalkboard design or poster online and wondered how it was made or wished you could make one. Well, now I’m going to teach you! It’s super easy and fun, and you can create any quote or poster you’d like, print it out and hang it in your home. Guaranteed to get you compliments and have guests asking where you bought it, when you really made it!
Step 1
First thing you’ll need is Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, so you can use the tools and download the fonts you want. A good site to look for these fonts is DaFont.com. Here’s the fonts I like to use when working with a chalkboard effect:
Step 2
Just go to a font website, search these fonts and download them. To load them into your fonts, go down to the start menu, type in “fonts” in the search bar and click enter. If you’re on a Mac, search for fonts in the upper search bar. Then, drag the font file you want to use into the font library. It should then be all set to use when you go into Photoshop.
Step 3
Next, you’ll need a chalkboard background. Go into Google and search for chalkboard backgrounds. I would easily post one on here for you, but I have right clicking disabled on my blog, so it’ll be a little challenging.
These are some example posters I created to show you how cool and different you can make yours!
Create your favorite quote, or one that inspires you and hang it in your office for inspiration!
You can even create an awesome family name poster. I used Smith as an example, but obviously using your own last name would look fab.
All of my pictures are 8 x 10. I think that’s the perfect size for these posters if you’re going to frame them.
I hope you all enjoy this! I’d love to see yours if you create any!
