Here’s one of my DIY projects from my sister’s baby shower yesterday! I wanted to do something fun as a carrier, so I found an idea to create a gift holder using a drink carrier. I went to the grocery store in search of a soda carrier, but they all seemed too small for what I needed, so I went with a Guinness case. It had more room since it held 6 bottles, rather than the cases I saw at the store that all at 4 bottles. I went over to one of the arts and craft stores in our town and got stickers to spell out his name:
I also got a bunch of scrapbook paper to have some variety for what I wanted to glue onto the carrier:
The first step to making the carrier is to measure each side of the case and write down the length and width:
I then cut out each piece, and for the handle I placed the correct piece to it, then drew the shape of the handle so I could cut it out accurately.
Here it is almost complete:
And here’s the final result of the front:
Final result of the back:
What I bought to put inside the gift carrier:
- Blankets that were on my sister’s gift registry:
Carters Wrap Me Up Receiving Blanket, Brown/Sage Circles, 4 Pack
- Desitin Diaper Rash Cream
- Johnson & Johnson baby lotion, baby shampoo and baby wash
This gift carrier is a fun, easy way to display gifts for a baby shower, and it’s fun picking out different things to put inside it! If you don’t want this to be your only gift, we also got my sister a basket from Home Goods and put some adorable baby boy clothes in it and a 4 pack of baby booties that were way too cute. Some good stores to check out for baby clothes and accessories are: Babies R Us of course, Carter’s, Home Goods (they have a baby section), Target and Gap. Also, if you’re an online shopper we recommend using Amazon!
