My family first started going to Long Beach Island, NJ about 10 years ago for a week every summer. I haven’t been there in a few years and I miss it – I NEED to go next summer. My mom and step-dad have gone the past couple summers and they just went last week. It’s an island about 18 miles long, and it’s quiet. I think that’s what I love most about it – when you go there it’s not crazy with college students and kids. The beach is calm and there’s a ton of places to eat and shop. What more could you want in a beach? Calmness, shopping and food. Anyway, back on story, my mom and step-dad came home with some goodies for me! I couldn’t keep them to myself, so I thought I’d share with everyone how cute these are. My mom found a cute store called The Spotted Whale. I’ve never been there but next time I’m at LBI I need to find this place, I’m in love!
My mom knows I have a seahorse obsession. Seriously, for years I’ve wanted my own seahorse and I literally tried to buy one for my niece but didn’t realize at the time how much attention and time it takes to own one, so maybe in a year or two I’ll get one lol. But look at this paper weight. Coolest paper weight you’ve ever seen, right?
I’m in love. With a paper weight. Look at it in action.
They also got me a sun catcher. Not only is it my favorite color, but it’s also a seahorse. YES. Can never have too much seahorse stuff.
This bad boy will be hanging in my office window. How amazing is it?! It’s also my first sun catcher, I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen cute ones like this before. Love. It.
I asked my mom to bring me home some seashells for a little DIY project I have in mind. They brought me a bunch but here’s some of my favs…
Ok, since you most likely don’t know my mom you don’t know that she LOVES calla lilies. But when I was looking at the seashells, Charlie points out that this one looks like a calla lily. How is it even possible?! It really does though, this picture doesn’t do it justice. What’s funnier is that my mom didn’t even realize it until I showed her. Now I need to find a cool project to do with this.
What are some projects you’ve done or seen involving seashells? I’d love to see some ideas!
Hope you like my gifts as much as I do. And if Mom is reading this, thank you again I love them!!!
