How is it that the 4th of July is right around the corner already?! It really snuck up on us this year, and I’ve been meaning to post this easy as pie project for a week!
You know by now that I have a love for mason jars (who doesn’t, really), so I wanted to do my own American Flag/Red, White and Blue mason jars! These are so easy to make, all I did was spray paint them and free handed the stars and stripes with acrylic paint. You can use them as flower vases, put candy in them, put led lights in them, or even use them at your 4th of July BBQ for forks, spoons and plastic knives! I’ll probably be keeping ours on the front porch all Summer long.
I placed them upside down to spray paint…
I used Valspar spray paint for both colors…
I waited 24 hours for the spray paint to completely dry, and then painted the stripes and stars onto the jars. I should add that I also added a coat of a clear gloss spray (optional of course) to give them a bit of a shiny texture! It’s really that easy, I thought hand painting everything would give it a vintage feel, and I think it does! I’m sure painters tape works amazing as well, I’m just impatient when it comes to paint drying 🙂
Here they are finished with some flowers…
And there you have it. The easiest red, white and blue project you’ll do this year!
Like this project? Yay! Pin this photo below to save it for later…
