I’m back with what will probably be my final Fall project of the season! (no promises, though) I’m getting into Christmas mode super early this year to prepare my shops early for the holiday season, so I’ll have plenty of Christmas themed projects for you all this year too!
This week I have a wooden block project for you, that took me about an hour to complete. I used the pack below, and also used a smaller wooden block I had extra from another project for the top piece. You could easily just use this pack for this whole project, it doesn’t have to look a certain way, which is what I love about it.
Here’s what the blocks looked like before I did anything to them. I debated on whether I wanted to paint them, stain them or just leave them as is. I chose to leave them as is because I’d be covering them with paper anyway, and I like the look of the plain wood.
So what I did was simple. I went through scrapbook paper that I had, and chose some pieces to fit Fall and Winter. These were my Fall pieces…
And then I just mod podged them onto the wood! Mod podge is one of my favorite things. Just ask my fiance.
And here’s the paper I chose for my Winter side…I decided to go with white and blues because I painted on the lyric “Let it snow”. So I thought blue would work better than red or green. Also notice I didn’t put paper on every side. I only did the front and back to keep it simple.
And here’s the completed Winter side! Now onto the painting…
I hand painted Let it Snow onto the Winter side, and Give Thanks onto the Fall side. It really doesn’t even have to look perfect, and you could easily use stickers if you don’t like your handwriting or painting skills lol.
I had some extra snowflakes and leaves from this previous project, so I glued some of those onto both sides…
And there you have it! A super cute and easy Fall to Winter DIY. I love these Fall to Winter projects because all you have to do is flip them around! I love getting to get a ton of use out of holiday decor, and since you can flip these, it means you can leave them out for a few months!
