Hello! Happy Thursday! Happy 15 days until Christmas! Actually, just typing that out stressed me out because I still have a lot of things to do before Christmas. But anyway, I was shopping a couple weeks ago and came across some adorable chalkboard gift tags, which to me seem genius because they can be re-used year after year! Of course on normal gift tags, once you write a name on it, you have to throw it out so these are great. So back to the story, I took them up to the counter because I didn’t see a price tag and asked how much they were. For 6 of them, I think they turned out to be $5 or $6. Doesn’t seem too bad, but I thought to myself, “NO, I can totally make my own!”. So off I went to make my own…and here’s how they turned out.
So how did I do it? I took a sheet of thin cardboard. White on one side, regular cardboard on the other.
I cut them into 3″ x 2″ pieces, then cut diagonally at the top to make them into the gift tag shape. After that I painted 2-3 coats of Martha Stewart chalkboard paint onto both sides, let them dry for a couple hours, and voila! New gift tags to use for Christmas prezzies!
I think they turned out adorable and I can’t wait to pop these onto some gifts!
Let me know what you think, and if you make your own gift tags I’d love to see them!
